This tool was used in the early 1800s, and it was an instrument that eliminated hemorrhoids, uterine and ovarian tumors. The toll was placed near the base of the unwanted growth and gradually strangled the surplus.

The ecraseur was known to cut off the excess growth’s blood supply until it fell off. We can only imagine how painful this procedure was, especially when we talk about hemorrhoids, but doctors used to believe that it was less painful than cutting.
