13. You have trouble sleeping at night

While there can be many reasons for keeping you awake at night, sometimes the problem is caused by your lungs. According to the Lung Health Institute, having trouble sleeping at night can be an indicator of COPD. As data from a study showed, it’s quite a common COPD symptom, with more than 40 percent of study participants experiencing it.

Having trouble sleeping, or sleeping lighter at night usually causes daytime tiredness and lethargy.

 

14. Exercising got harder

If workouts suddenly got more difficult than usual and you started experiencing shortness of breath when doing exercising suitable for your current fitness level, you should probably make pay a visit to your doctor and find out what’s going on.

While it can be caused by fatigue, the sudden change could also be an alarming sign that indicates a severe lung condition, especially if you start showing symptoms like chest pain, coughing, and dizziness, the American Lung Association states.

 

15. You experience chills

If you always have chills and your body is shivering for no reason, even when it’s hot outside, it could be a sign of pneumonia, especially if you also show other symptoms such as cough, fever, and shortness of breath.

If your chest hurts you always think it can be due to heart conditions, but sometimes your lungs are to blame. Chest pain can be caused by a lung tumor that presses on your nerves, the Johns Hopkins Medicine says.

So make sure you don’t overlook any type of chest pain that appears when breathing, laughing, or coughing.

 

17. You’re way too sensitive to allergens

If you’re constantly very sensitive to allergens, you might be asthmatic. If you’re easily triggered by allergens like dust mites, animal dander, pollen, pollution, and others, and you show symptoms like chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing, you probably have asthma, according to the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
