If you’ve read any of our articles before, you know that we discussed SARS-CoV-2 many times, due to the fact that it has changed our lives in a drastic way. One of the main concerns that many people have at the moment is long Covid (PASC), which means experiencing coronavirus symptoms long after you are no longer infected with this deadly virus.
Researchers are trying to figure out more about this health condition and they are working on finding out what category of people is more likely to develop this.
According to research that studied more than 200 people for approximately three months after they had been diagnosed with Covid-19, scientists stated that they have discovered four factors that can increase patients’ chances of developing PASC symptoms.
The study was published by the journal Cell, and researchers said that they might be able to suggest ways to treat this condition, including the prospect of giving people some antiviral antibiotics shortly after an infection has occurred.
However, Dr. Steven Deeks, a professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, who was not a part of the study mentioned above, said that this might be a real base for studying this health condition.
In addition to that, he and other experts, including those who were part of this research, said that there is still a lot of work to do to know everything for sure.
