The world of scientific discovery is filled with ingenious, dogged or entrepreneurial scientists putting their considerable gray matter towards solving complex problems, uncovering secrets and changing the world we live in forever, most times for the better.
However, this hasn’t always been the case and although the scientists on this list are far from being shuddering morons, their subsequent discoveries didn’t exactly come about after years of painstaking research but more by happenstance or just blind luck.
