Some of the northwestern states, Washington, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon were on top with a huge number of cases related to omicron, more precisely 96.3%. Omicron had a big percent in the southern states as well, with 95.2% cases in a group of eight states.
Not long ago, Omicron cases accounted for more than 90% of all cases in three additional regions: Ohio and five other upper midwestern states (92.3%), Texas and four bordering states (92.1%), and New York and New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands (92.1%).
On the other hand, omicron wasn’t as strong in other states, such as Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri, where it was responsible for 30.6% of cases. The number was bigger, precisely 37.7% in New England, which means that the most frequent and common coronavirus strain was still delta.
