California was the state that had the largest number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic in the United States, and the number 1 hotspot, as data from the Covid Act Now shows. The news is not so good either, as the new variant is already present in the state, with 72 cases confirmed in less than a month.
The first infected patient with the new strain from the U.K. was discovered on December 30, and other 71 cases have been confirmed since then. As it appears, the new strain makes its way into the United States, and in a blink of an eye, all the states are expected to confirm its presence in the following weeks.
As Barbara Ferrer, PhD, MPH, Director of Public Health in Los Angeles, said in a statement on January 16, the numbers are very alarming and the new variant has brought a lot of troubling news to the Los Angeles County, in particular, considering there are already more than 7,500 people hospitalized and the healthcare system is on the verge of collapsing.
“Our community is bearing the brunt of the winter surge, experiencing huge numbers of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, five-times what we experienced over the summer. This more contagious variant makes it easier for infections to spread at worksites, at stores, and in our homes. We are in the midst of a public health emergency so please do everything you can to protect yourselves and those you love,” Ferrer said in a statement.

Yep, I was expecting this, maybe just not so soon! The liberals are bound and determined to control each and every aspect of our lives, after all, they have gotten by with it the past 6 months, does anyone out there really think they have controlled people for their own good? We really do have the sense to come in out of the rain! I have a feeling we haven't seen nothing yet, they aren't going to be happy until they can KEEP people just where they want them!!!!!!
