While iPhones existed ten years ago, voice command didn’t exist yet. In 2010, Siri was just an idea, but it came to life in 2011, and people were able to call or text someone by asking your phone verbally to do so. I think we can all agree that Siri is a great feature that made our lives easier.

Personal robots

I think we all know by now who Alexa is. Therefore, if someone says ‘Hi, Alexa!’ everyone assumes they’re talking to a robot, and not to a real person. And Alexa is just an example, as there are many other personal robotic home devices that can help you do everything you want, from turning on/off the lights in your home, to changing the song or calling someone.

In 2014, Amazon introduced smart home speakers with the echo to the world, and many people have gotten used to having smart assistants of all kinds in their homes since then. However, these personal robots are now questioned by privacy advocates.

iPads

Apple introduced iPads to the public in 2010, but many were skeptical about this computer and phone hybrid. But as it seems, people began to love tablets, as 10 years later the sales are still going strong, and Apple registered more than $4.66 billion in sales in a period of three months in 2019.

Glasses for the vision impaired

Another amazing technological achievement that appeared in the last decade are glasses for the visually impaired. It’s quite awesome how a pair of glasses could imitate sight for the visually impaired.

The glasses appeared on the market in 2017 and they help many patients live similar lives or those with eyesight problems see clearly with the help of high-resolution screens and innovative software.
