As the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has explained, there’s no need to avoid getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. If we take a look at the data, only six people have reported severe blood clotting forms, out of more than seven million people who’ve received the Jenssen vaccine.
Therefore, people need to understand that this is a rare event. According to the CDC, the only situation in which is recommended to avoid getting the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is if you know you’re allergic to some of its ingredients.
“An allergic reaction is considered severe when a person needs to be treated with epinephrine or EpiPen or if they must go to the hospital,” the CDC added. “An immediate allergic reaction means a reaction within four hours of getting vaccinated, including symptoms such as hives, swelling, or wheezing.”
