OTC Meds Could make the COVID-19 Vaccine Less Effective

These meds could even affect your body’s ability to fight the virus in the future.

If ibuprofen and acetaminophen have the ability to block the cyclooxygenase-2 (cox-2) enzyme, your body will n longer be able to produce the antibodies as a result of the vaccine, which will make it less effective and you won’t be as protected against the virus. Therefore, even though you’ll be vaccinated, there will still be a good chance you’ll contract the virus again in the future.
