1. Strokes

Those who are infected with the new coronavirus can experience inflammation, organ malfunction and they can even develop blood clots. These are common symptoms, among others, that can be seen when it comes to severe Covid-19 cases. These can make the person more susceptible to the risk of venous and arterial thromboembolisms, which means a build-up of blood clots. Having blood clots can determine stroke and heart attack.

According to Mohamed Teleb, MD, who is a medical director of neurosciences at Banner Desert Medical Center, the Covid-19 infection builds inflammation anywhere in the body.

Further, this produces hypercoagulation of the blood, which makes the blood clot more trippingly than normal. This scheme is dangerous, because it can lead to production of strokes.

2. Severe infection

When someone is infected with the new coronavirus, Covid-19 can enter the brain and the spinal cord, basically the central nervous system and cause an unexpected infection.

Some researchers found Covid-19’s genetic material in the spinal fluid of some people from Japan and China, that were infected with SARS-CoV-2. Also, there was a case in Florida, where researchers found some viral particles in the brain cells.

This might happen due to the fact that the virus can enter into the bloodstream or into the nerve endings. Some of the doctors think that this is linked with the loss of smell and taste when infected with Covid-19.

According to a study that implied people who died from SARS-CoV-2, researchers found leakage from blood vessels into people’s olfactory bulbs. On the other hand, there is no proof that the virus really entered the brain.
