There are cases of Covid-19 patients who have been cured from the virus and who have developed some severe autoimmune diseases. This happens when the immune system attacks the patient, but not the virus.
Theodore Price, PhD, professor of neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas, conducted a study in order to find a connection between the new coronavirus and some organs in the human body.
After the research period, they found a link between immune cells and nerves in the lungs, that can create some serious health problems to a person infected with Covid-19.
According to professor Price, the drugs that are used for treating medical diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, can be part of a treatment scheme for treating Covid-19 patients.
Although none of these drugs were tested in clinical trials for Covid-19 patients, it is believed that they can help minimize the body’s immune response.
Although we don’t know for sure how actually Covid-19 affects the brain, we know that being infected with this virus can lead to some serious health problems, which further, might lead to brain malfunctions.
