While flurona is still something strange and unknown, Dr. Schaffner suggests that using masks and keeping a safe distance can help prevent the spread of both viruses. However, he underlines that getting both influenza and SARS-CoV-2 vaccines is the best defense in this natural battle.
Given the fact that the new coronavirus and the flu are two distinct viruses that are not associated in any way, being vaccinated against both is essential for protection. Unfortunately, the one cannot defend against the other.
While you can still acquire Covid-19 and the flu if you’ve been vaccinated for both, according to Dr. Boyd, the flu and Covid-19 vaccines are great for reducing the chances of developing severe symptoms.
In addition to that, the doctor said that unvaccinated people are the ones who end up in the hospital, due to the severity of their symptoms, rather than the vaccinated. She said that this will also be the case with the flu.
The CDC said that it is perfectly fine to get vaccinated for both Covid-19 and influenza at the same time.
What do you think about flurona? Are you planning on getting vaccinated for both Covid-19 and influenza? We are curious to know about your experiences, so make sure to let us know what you think by leaving a comment in the section down below!
P.S: Don’t forget to wear masks, keep social distancing, don’t travel if it is not necessary, get vaccinated, wash your hands and keep yourself and the other people around you safe!
