Most people are probably very happy to hear about the 7 or 10 days period, but things are a little more complicated than that when it comes to COVID-19. According to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in May 2020, the incubation period is around 5 days on average, but for 10% of individuals, it could be 12 days or more.
The study authors explained that about 101 patients in every 10,000 can experience COVID-19 symptoms after 14 days, which indicates that 10 days of quarantine are not enough.

This is all about money. Companies don’t want to pay employees for 14 days of quarantine. I don’t blame them, however just shortening the time is not the answer. This will cause a larger spread of the virus, making things harder on our health care system. The Federal Government needs to get their act together and think of ways to help SMALL business and employees. Otherwise we’re going to have complete mayhem going into the new year.
