Water contains asymmetrical molecules that allow it to clean well.

Water has triangular molecules which means it’s made from two hydrogen atoms stuck to an oxygen atom. The triangular molecules have different charges on their sides and they act like a magnet. The hydrogen molecule is slightly positive, while the oxygen molecule is slightly negative, which makes water great at sticking to other molecules.

For instance, when you take a shower, the water molecules stick to the dirt and attract it, just like a magnet. Additionally, this is why water has surface tension, because it’s great at sticking to itself.

Turbulence makes the ‘pulse’ setting on a blender work better.

“When your blender stops chopping up food and begins just spinning it around in circles, it’s because everything inside is spinning at the same rate,” notes Woodford in his book. Instead of blending all the ingredients together, all the layers of liquid are moving in the same direction.

The process is called laminar flow. Additionally, due to turbulence, the fruit pieces inside the blender fall into the center instead of rolling around the sides, which makes it easier to blend them smoothly.
