Handshakes will be left in the past.

I think we can all remember the first days of the pandemic and the first safety measures that have been put in place, avoiding handshakes being one of them. According to Nesochi Okeke-Igbokwe, MD, an internist, and health expert, “In this new era of the coronavirus and the practice of social distancing, there will undoubtedly be a cultural shift in the way we all greet one another.”

Nesochi Okeke-Igbokwe believes handshakes, high fives, hugs, and kissing your friends on the cheek are now in the past and will likely stay that way for a long time, if not forever. Instead of doing all these things that require touching the other person, the social greeting will take the form of a head nod, hand on the heart, waving, or any other methods that will avoid touch or contact.
