Is there a link between blood type and Covid-19?

Just like researchers found a connection between genetics and Covid-19, it is believed that the blood type also plays a role when it comes to this virus.

Researchers from Columbia University published a paper in the “Nature Communications” magazine, where they mentioned that they studied blood samples of people infected with the new coronavirus. They did that in order to find a link between the blood types and the risks of getting infected with SARS-CoV-2.

They found that O blood type has a small risk of contracting the new coronavirus, compared to the other ones. They also observed that people with type AB are more likely to die from Covid-19, than people with type A and B.
