How Your DNA Can Make You More Susceptible To SARS-CoV-2

Robert Glatter, an emergency medicine physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, has a theory which says that the genes that are responsible with controlling the blood type have also a role when it comes to the surface of cells. This means that distinctions in cell-surface structure caused by blood type can have an affect on the vulnerability of the cells when it comes to the infection with the new coronavirus.

On the other hand, there is a study led by the researchers from the University of Utah School of Medicine, which evaluated at least 11,000 people who were infected with Covid-19. They didn’t find a link between the blood type and the type of symptoms that this disease can make a patient have.
