How Your DNA Can Make You More Susceptible To SARS-CoV-2

This is why researchers started to think that genetic is an important factor when it comes to the new coronavirus. The began by studying the genetics of many people who were exposed to the SARS-CoV-2. They identified connections between the possibility to develop this disease and variations in individual parts of the DNA.

The researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology wrote a paper that was published in “Nature” magazine and the COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative released a data set that show a connection between the DNA and the new coronavirus. According to these two sources, a part of the chromosome 3, which is called 3p21.31, is responsible with severe Covid-19 symptoms.
