11. Coleco Adam

Coleco Adam was first released in 1983 as a home PC, in a time when many companies, such as Atari and RadioShack, tried to make it big in the home computer market. Coleco was already known for ColecoVision gaming system and Cabbage Patch Dolls, so when they announced that their first home PC will be available in a few months, everyone got excited.

The PC promised 64k of RAM, twin tape drives, and a daisy-wheel printer, for just $600, which was significantly lower than other PCs made at that time by companies such as Apple and IBM.

The problem was that early units had some quality-control issues, and users were really not happy about it. So, in 1985 Coleco Adam met its technological end. So did Coleco three years later.
