2. Apple Lisa

Apple Lisa first appeared in 1983, being produced only until 1985. It was the first PC to have a graphical user interface and a mouse.

It was intended to be a real revolution in personal computing, but was overshadowed by the Apple Macintosh model, which appeared a year later and at a significantly lower price of $2,495, compared to Lisa’s price of $9,995, that is the equivalent of almost $25,000 in today’s money, which needless to say was a huge amount to pay for a computer.

Not only the price make the Apple Lisa not enjoy the success it expected, but also the fact that the Apple Macintosh was faster, had a more reliable OS and had the option to expand its memory.

In an attempt to sell the Apple Lisa, however, the model received a new name, the Mac XL, given the success of the Mac model, but nothing could save Lisa from the scrap heap.
