Depending on where you live on Earth, temperatures tend to fluctuate depending on the season. If you live in the Northeastern United States, you’re used to somewhere around 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter, and 90 in the summer.
In Montana, temperatures went from -54 degrees Fahrenheit to 45 degrees Fahrenheit on the same day. But no matter how unusual that might be to us, it’s nothing compared to Mercury’s temperatures, as it can fluctuate over 1,000 degrees in one day.
For instance, there are -280 degrees Fahrenheit at night on Mercury, and an average of 800 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. I think the hardest decision you’ll ever have to make if living on Mercury would be what to wear.
