Even though most people associate Microsoft with Bill Gates, Paul Allen named the company “Microsoft” and he was also the co-founder. Paul Allen was born in 1953 in Seattle, Washington, just like his business partner and very good friend, Bill Gates.
In fact, Allen and Gates used to be classmates at the elite Lakeside School in Seattle. Paul Allen is also one of the wealthiest men in the world, and he contributed to helping redefine the personal computing world through his work with Microsoft.
Just like his friend, Bill Gates, Allen also scored a perfect 1600 on his SAT. He attended Washington State University, even though he dropped out because he wanted to become a programmer, and this was the best decision he ever made because it changed his life, and ours as well.
Allen was also the one that encouraged Gates to drop off Harvard and start a business together, and that’s how Microsoft came to life. In order to become this wealthy, Allen invested in high-growth companies such as Ticketmaster, owning more than 40 patents. Additionally, he even won a Super Bowl ring when his NFL franchise, the Seattle Seahawks in 2014.
