Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954, in Kosciusko, Mississippi, United States. She is a well-known American talk show host, television producer, actress, author, and philanthropist. She’s definitely the most powerful presence in the entertainment scene.
Winfrey worked very hard for everything she achieved, considering the fact that she was born in a poor community in Mississippi. Even so, she managed to become one of the most influential women in the United States.
But fame didn’t come overnight for Winfrey, as she started her career by working as a local news reporter. She moved to Chicago in 1984 where she worked on a morning talk show that didn’t perform very well.
However, her great personality and empathetic style rapidly brought her to tops in her market. 4 years after, the program was named after her, ‘the Oprah Winfrey Show’, and got expanded to a full hour.
She exceeded in a world full of men and contributed to redefining the daytime talk show, by staying away from tabloid sensationalism and gossip, and moving towards self-improving, mental health, and inspirational talks.

Additionally, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom back in 2013 and holds an honorary doctorate from Harvard University.
