The Eskimo curlew, which was listed on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered, was last seen with certainty in 1963. Some scientists already believe that it might be extinct. Historically, the species ranged from Alaskan and Canadian Arctic breeding grounds to Pampas grasslands in Argentina, where they’d migrate every winter.
