Pygmy Tarsier

This nocturnal primate lives in Indonesia, but it’s quite interesting how researchers assumed it was extinct at the beginning of the 20th century. However, more than a century later, in the early 2000s, it has been discovered that pygmy tarsier is not actually, extinct.

The discovery has been made after a scientist accidentally captured a pygmy tarsier in a trap he used for catching a rat. However, the sad news is that the pygmy tarsier died in that trap. A few years later, three other pygmy tarsiers have been captured by scientists, and they attached collars in order to track their moves and gather data about them.
