We might understand public health ethics more.
Of course, there will always be people that don’t take the virus seriously mainly because they think everything is a hoax. These people believe the virus is not real so they don’t think that it will affect them as well one day.
While everyone is entitled to an opinion, these people are not following the guidelines, which is definitely a problem, especially when you’re not wearing a mask in places where you should, or have large family gatherings.
Even though you might not believe in COVID-19, it’s still important to do everything in your power to make sure your loved ones are safe, because you could put other people at risk without knowing, especially your elderly family members or other immunocompromised individuals.
Additionally, you can have COVID-19 even when you’re not showing any symptoms, this is why all the public health measures are essential. The pandemic definitely made us understand public health ethics more than we did before, and learn to put aside our own beliefs for the greater good.
From now on, let’s hope that we’ll become even more aware of the importance of public health and we’ll continue to implement these habits into our everyday life.
