People will take their personal space more seriously from now on.
You’ve probably heard about social distancing since the beginning of the pandemic, as this public health practice has been shown to protect us from COVID-19 infections. Therefore, people have been paying close attention to maintaining the 6 feet distance between themselves and another person.
However, the term social distancing has been replaced by physical distancing in the past few months, because authorities felt like it was wrong to ask people to distance themselves socially from others.
It’s true that some people have taken this practice very seriously, while others not so much. But one thing is sure, physical distancing will continue to stay with us for a long time, as people have started taking their personal space more seriously.
As Dmytro Okunyev, the founder of Chanty, a team chat platform that uses artificial intelligence has explained, “People will start paying more attention to whom they let approach them in their personal space, and the socially acceptable personal distance will change in most cultures.”
