4. Sony Walkman

…Given the fact that this is the second great device made by Sony that we have included on this list, we might say that they were on fire with creativity and intelligence!

The brand Sony was the first one that created a music player that merged a lot of people’s interests, such as affordability, portability, and simplicity.

Even though vinyl records were still the most used device when it comes to listening to music, the Walkman, which was initially called “Sound-About” in the United States of America, had the ability to play small-scale cassettes. In addition to that, this gadget was compact enough to fit in your jeans pocket or in a purse.

Many people believe that the Walkman contributed to the phenomenon of private space in public, due to the effective results of wearing headphones.

This device used AA batteries, which made it possible to listen to music far from the power outlets. Sony succeeded in selling over 200 million Walkmans. It is believed that this gadget facilitated the creation of the CD player and the iPod.

5. TomTom GPS

…Did you know that the GPS appeared into this world with the help of the government?

In 2000, Bill Clinton, the then-president of the United States of America, decided it was time to open the network on a full level. However, there are people who say that this was actually a promise that former president Ronald Reagan had made, and Clinton was just following it.

Soon after he made the information public, there were a lot of companies, from TomTom to Garmin, that popularized the concept of personal GPS gadgets for automotive navigation, such as the Start 45.

After a while, inventors wanted to improve their devices, so they managed to merge GPS technology with the mobile connections that smartphones had. This is how a lot of location-based services, such as Uber and Bolt, were born.
