The rapid spread of new variants offers hints about how the new coronavirus is adapting and how the pandemic scenario will play out over the next period of time.
A biologist named Jesse Bloom studied SARS-CoV-2 and made a few predictions. He and other virus specialists, who gazed into the deep tissue of the virus at the beginning of the pandemic, said the new pathogen would not be destroyed. They said that it’s more likely that this virus would become endemic, which means that it will be the fifth coronavirus that will establish itself in humans, besides the other four “seasonal” coronaviruses that cause mild affections. These four types of coronaviruses have been circulating in humans for a long time before Covid-19 came into the picture.
