How many robots are on Mars?
Interestingly, Mars is the only known planet that is fully populated by robots, currently being the home to 16 of them, with more to be expected in the near future. However, just two robots are in operation at the moment. We’re talking about NASA’s Curiosity rover and InSight lander, and four other robots either crash-landed on the surface or got destroyed on entry.
What is Mars made of?
Inside, Mars consists of a dense iron, nickel and sulphur core, surrounded by a softer silicon and an oxygen mantle. The planet’s 50 km-thick crust is made almost entirely of iron, magnesium, aluminium, calcium, and potassium.
