4. OT44

OT44 is 550 lightyears away from us, in a constellation called Chamaeleon. It is eleven times more massive than Jupiter and it doesn’t like company. We said in the beginning that the planets from our Solar System orbit around the Sun, while exoplanets orbit around other stars. Some worlds really value their time alone, so they prefer to roam around the galaxy and not choose a star for orbiting. OT44 is one of them, just a lone wolf.

5. 55 Cancri

This exoplanet, called 55 Cancri, chose a star that seems a little like the Sun. You have good taste, 55 Cancri! At first, it was thought that this exoplanet was extremely abundant in carbon, due to its immense pressure and 4,892°F. Also, it was believed that its interior was made of diamond.

Lately, due to more research, it has been discovered that the exoplanet doesn’t have that much carbon, so the diamond theory has gone.

TAKEAWAY

Are you still thinking about packing your bags and going to live on an exoplanet? Well, don’t worry, because, like we’ve said in the beginning, each day there’s another exoplanet discovered. So maybe it won’t be too long until one that can support life and also it’s not too far from the Earth will be discovered.

Until next time, don’t forget to enjoy your life on Earth!
