7. Hard-Boiled Eggs
Believe it or not, eggs that are boiled in the urine of young boys are thought to have curative powers by some Chinese people. Tong zi dan (“virgin boy eggs”) is the name given to the eggs.
They’re a thing in Dongyang, China’s Zhejiang Province, where they’re sold on the side of the road. The eggs are said to treat or prevent a variety of diseases, according to consumers.
Egg salesmen frequently visit schools with buckets for young students to pee in. Later, the merchant finds the buckets and uses them to create the eggs. However, they don’t allow sick pupils to urinate in the buckets in order to ensure that only healthy urine and eggs are produced.
