Though some have criticized both journals decision to publish editorials that appear (and directly do) call for the removal of Trump and his administration, the medical community at large is not one of them. Many medical professionals who have no direct association with either journal have roundly applauded this editorial.
One noted medical professional, Dr. Jeremy Greene, a professor of medicine and historian of medicine at Johns Hopkins University, accused the Trump administration of demonstrating “a continuous, reckless disregard of truth.”
It is hard to say how this will affect the election in just under a months time, but the open and direct criticism and condemnation by highly influential and respected medical publications in the time of a global health crisis, may turn a few heads towards wanting a blue horizon, not a red one.
