Two people got engaged, and then they discovered that their parents almost got married as well.

There’s an episode of NPR’s This American Life, titled “No Coincidence, No Story,” where two people just got engaged when they found out that their parents almost married one another a few decades back in time.

When Stephen and Helen Lee got engaged, they looked through family photos during their engagement celebration that took place in New York. What they came across really shocked their entire family.

The two discovered that the bride’s mother and the groom’s father who passed away almost got married in the 1960s, somewhere in Korea. However, the two canceled their wedding since their families didn’t approve.

But since the Universe works in mysterious ways, the two people that loved each other but haven’t been able to spend their lives together now share grandchildren a few decades later.
