7. Reynolds Premier
Ever since we realized that smoking is not a healthy habit, companies producing smoking-related things have tried to find a safer way to smoke (although we all know that such a thing does not exist). That’s how Reynolds’ Premier cigarettes appeared in 1988, decades before the vaping trend took over the world.
These cigarettes used a carbon-type tobacco heating technology, which sent vapors through a flavored capsule. Apparently, Reynolds considered this process to be much safer for smokers.
However, after $300 million was invested in research and development, Premier turned out to be a total failure. Smokers complained about the taste of coal and the plastic smell of cigarettes.
