7. Sediment Sloshes in Solway Firth, Scotland

The firth that keeps Scotland and the United Kingdom apart is the Solway Firth. This beautiful location is actually a rural area, where people are dabbling with hill farming, fishing and arable farming.

The firth stretches from the South of Whitehaven in Cumbria to the Mull of Galloway. If you look at this image, you won’t believe it’s real. It looks just like something Van Gogh would paint or like a landscape from a movie.

In this picture, we can see that the water is rich with sediment, soils and plankton. Offshore, the water changes its color: from the dark green where it’s shallower, to the dark blue when it gets deeper.
