COVID has declined by 31 percent in the last two weeks in the United States, with an average of 117,993 cases per day. While that’s definitely good news, people are sill concerned about the two COVID mutations that are now present in the United States, the U.K. variant and the South African one.

According to experts, if we want to stop the spread of the virus, we need to play both offense and defense. While the vaccines play a very important part in slowing the spread of the virus, we still need to follow all the safety precautions, including social distancing measures, proper hand hygiene and most importantly, mask wearing.
Herd immunity could take months or even years, so people need to make sure they’re still wearing a mask, as they’re currently the simplest and most efficient tools in avoiding a COVID infection. Also, even though there are a lot of masks available on the market, not all of them are equally as efficient in preventing COVID.
In fact, one mask is considered to be the best, according to Anthony Fauci, our nation’s top immunologist and the director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The mask Fauci is referring to is the classic N95, which is considered the gold standard among medical professionals all over the world.
