Are vaccines working?
Yes, they are. If you’ve already completed a full course of vaccination, your body should be prepared to fight all of the new COVID-19 variants. Through immunization you are practically training your immune system to recognize and fight the virus faster, which prevents the infection from progressing.
So, if you’ll contract the virus, it’s more likely that you’ll develop a mild case that you otherwise would have been more severe, or you’ll be an asymptomatic case that otherwise would have been a mild one.
Countries with high rates of immunization are providing proof that vaccines are working through their lower proportion of COVID-19 cases that requires hospitalization.
