Since we began to discover a lot more about the universe and its vastness, one question has been on everyone’s minds. Are we alone in the universe? Even though we do not have an exact answer to this question, scientists are convinced that there is life outside our planet.
We’ve discovered a lot more galaxies in the past decades, as well as planets and exoplanets, we’ve had the first walk on the moon, landed spacecraft on Mars, and sent satellites to the farthest planets in our solar system. Amazing, right?
And we still have a lot to discover, with the help of the SETI Institute (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence), which is trying to communicate with whatever life form is there. Let’s not forget that our solar system is about 5 billion years old, and we’ve explored very little, still.
The well-known physicist Enrico Fermi had a lot of questions about science at the beginning of the 20th century when he came up with what is known today as the Fermi Paradox, or the Great Silence.
Enrico Fermi always wondered why we haven’t managed to find extraterrestrial life, or why they haven’t found us, considering the fact that the universe is so vast. Even though we might not have the exact answers to these questions in this article, you’re going to find out why scientists believe there’s life outside our planet.
So read on to discover why are scientists convinced that life exists on other planets, as well!
