But the truth is, we’ve just started looking for life outside our planet

Even though we’re curious to find out if there’s life outside our planet or even galaxy, the truth is our search has just begun, so we need to have patience and be persistent. We started looking for aliens about one century ago, which is very little time when you consider how old is the universe.

According to Evan Solomonides, a researcher at Cornell University, we might need more than 1,500 years until we come across aliens, as he mentioned in a paper for the American Astronomical Society.

“We predict that under 1 percent of the galaxy has been reached at all thus far, and we do not anticipate to be reached until approximately half of the stars/planets have been reached,” he said.

“Human communication has not reached a number of stars and planets adequate to expect an answer,” he added. Additionally, Briony Horgan, a professor of earth, atmospheric and planetary sciences at Purdue University, also mentioned that we didn’t find aliens yet because they’re not actively transmitting signals for communication.
