Now more than ever, people need to take all the precautions recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Now that we have two new variants present in the United States, Anthony Fauci, and other medical experts urge people to follow all the precautions recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since the beginning of the pandemic. Now more than ever, people need to make sure they’re safe, considering these two new strains are far more transmissible than the dominant one.

According to Fauci, “This just underscores the need to continue to put our foot to the floor and the pedal about making sure we do the public health measures that we talk about all the time—the wearing of masks, the physical distancing, the avoiding crowds and congregate settings.”

Only by following these safety precautions, we can prevent the spread of the new South African strain, Fauci added. Additionally, Brannon Traxler, MD, DHEC Interim Public Health Director, shares Fauci’s advice, adding that people need to do their part by following all the safety measures. If doing so, there will be a big difference in how the new South African strain spreads in the United States.

Therefore, all you need to do is make sure you’re wearing a face mask in public places, avoid crowded places and large gatherings, maintain the six feet apart distance, wash your hand properly, and very importantly, get vaccinated.

According to Traxler, there are no better tools than these to fight COVID and its mutations.
