The good news, however, is that alcohol hasn’t been found to affect your immune system’s response to the vaccine, so if you’re not worried about the potential side-effects, you are free to enjoy a glass of wine after vaccination.

During trials, Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson didn’t ask participants to not drink alcohol and there’s also no evidence that alcohol consumption could affect the immune system’s response.

According to Richard Watkins, MD, an infectious disease physician and a professor of internal medicine at the Northeast Ohio Medical University, alcohol hasn’t been linked to reducing the formation of antibodies, so we could say that your only concern will be the potential side effects.

Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) didn’t mention anything about alcohol before and after the COVID-19 vaccine, so it won’t affect the process.
