Scareware – restricts access to PCs and data (just like Locker Ransomware mentioned before), but employs another tactic to recover them. This type of virus tricks the victim by displaying false, warning messages about certain problems or a window appears that “scans” the PC and offers the “solution” at a high price. Access will only be allowed after running certain software for a fee.
Doxware – is the most dangerous type of ransomware for both users and companies because it not only deletes or restricts access to data, but also threatens to publish them if the required ransom is not paid.
