Some statistical data regarding ransomware
It seems that the developers of a certain type of ransomware monitored by Bitdefender managed to raise $1.5 million in just one week.
And this is not at all a surprise, given that more than half (56%) of victims of ransomware attacks have paid, during 2020, the ransom required by hackers to restore access to their data, according to a global study made by security company Kaspersky.
According to the same report published by Kaspersky, in terms of financial losses, about a quarter of the victims of ransomware attacks (26%) recorded financial losses estimated at less than one hundred dollars.
