The data analyzed by specialists shows that, regardless of whether they paid or not, only 29% of the victims managed to receive all the files encrypted or blocked as a result of an attack, 50% lost only some of the files, 32% lost a significant amount , and 18% lost a small number of files.
So, as we can clearly see from the previous statistical data, it is understandable why most experts are against paying ransoms, because it may encourage hackers to choose other targets, but also because you have no guarantee that once paid, your blocked files will be returned.
