More contagious than other viruses
Delta variant of COVID-19 first appeared in India, where it wreaked havoc in the spring. The virus hit a population that was mostly unvaccinated, which made things even worse. Researchers claim there must have been as many as 3 million deaths.
In just a few months, it had spread all around the globe. Studies from the United Kingdom are showing that this variant of Covid19 is highly contagious.
Compared to the first variant of coronavirus from 2019, this one is spreading 60% more easily from one person to another. In conclusion, with the Delta variant, each infected person can spread the virus to six others.
