How efficient is the vaccine?
Scientists say that the 2 doses of vaccines that the health organizations have come up with so far are preventing hospitalization and death. However, the neutralization purpose of the vaccine is lower to none at all when it comes to the Delta variant.
There’s a study published by the New England Journal of Medicine that is based on tested neutralization activity of sera from patients who recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection and sera from people who got vaccinated against B.1.617.2 virus (Delta variant).
Data from the studies showed that the Delta variant is 2.9 times less prone to neutralization than the first Wuhan strain, but even so, it has shown detectable neutralization activity.
